Raipur: Dirt Free India Campaign: Chhattisgarh state got second place in the country

 Raipur, 29 September 2020. In Chhattisgarh, many records are being set at the national level in the field of sanitation under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission Rural Phase 2, the Chhattisgarh State, under the Dirt-Free India campaign launched by the Government of India from August 08 to August 15, 2020, 62 villages ODF. Plus has been declared. It is a matter of pride for the state that the state of Chhattisgarh has been ranked second in the country in the category of declaring the most ODF plus villages. The State of Chhattisgarh will be awarded second place in the country for the Dirt-Free India Campaign on the Clean India Day to be organized by the Union Government’s Ministry of Water Power on the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. This award will be given online. 

 State Rural Development Minister Shri TS Singhdev has said that the state has performed better this year in the Dirt-Free India campaign, the campaign for cleanliness will continue. He informed that fulfilling the criteria of the Government of India, 62 villages were given ODF. Plus has been declared. He said that the state of Chhattisgarh has also been a pioneer in the implementation of Phase-I of Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin. Chhattisgarh received a performance grant of Rs 174 crore in the year 2018 and 2019 for outstanding performance in the field of cleanliness. This year also, the state has received an amount of Rs 68 crore as a performance grant by the World Bank. 

 Shri Singh Dev has congratulated the entire team of the State District, Block and Village and all the villagers of the Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen for their outstanding performance under the Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen. ODF under Phase-II of Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin. Efforts are being made to clean all villages by working on solid and liquid waste management including sustainability. ODF, plus open defecation free openness in 8 parameters for village, availability of public toilets, 80 percent houses and all schools, proper arrangement of solid and liquid waste management in Anganwadi Panchayat building, garbage dumps and water public places But there is no gathering, wide publicity of cleanliness etc.
