Raipur, 29 September 2020.Under the Divyangjan Marriage Incentive Scheme, the State Government offers an incentive amount of Rs. 1 lakh for the marriage of disabled youth. Under this scheme, the disabled youth is given a lump sum of Rs 50 thousand on the marriage of one or the young woman and one lakh rupees in the event of both of them being divorced. PwD has been invited by the Social Welfare Department for the PwD Marriage Incentive Scheme for PwDs. Couples having eligibility have been requested to submit the application online or through their Janpad Panchayat office or directly to the Deputy Director Social Welfare Office, to avail the scheme.
It is worth noting that among the various schemes run by the Chhattisgarh Government Social Welfare Department, one of the important schemes is the Divyangjan Marriage Incentive Scheme. In order to be eligible for the incentive amount, one of the couples with disability is a mandatory resident of Chhattisgarh. Disability is 40 percent or more. At the time of marriage, the age of the youth should not be less than 21 years and not more than 45 years and the age of the girl should not be less than 18 years and more than 45 years. The couple’s marriage ceremony was performed in accordance with the prevailing social custom or legal marriage by the competent court. No member of the couple is a class of income tax payer. It is mandatory for the eligible couple to submit the application in the prescribed form with the necessary documents and certificates within maximum 6 months of the marriage.
