Many innovations are being done by the School Education Department through educational and non-academic activities, while some teachers and school management are working out of the way to better shape the future of children, so that students as well as parents and villagers There is also a new enthusiasm. In the middle school of village Barna of Dhamtari development block, the positive role of associate teacher and school management committee has been largely successful in attracting public attention, along with the innovative educational activities of Hiralal Sahu. As a tribute to the work, on Friday 18 September, Collector Shri Jayaprakash Maurya conferred the Jnanadeep Award on Teacher Shri Sahu and also appreciated his outstanding achievements.

Middle School Donor comes under Dhamtari Kendra Donor of Dhamtari Development Block, where  Sahu was posted as Teacher Panchayat in the year 2009. He first tried to innovate in the school uniform by consulting fellow teachers. Thereafter, like the private schools, the white uniforms were unanimously implemented for the students on Wednesday and Saturday in the school here. The good thing is that all the teachers and members of the foster management committee gave financial support for the children of poor sections. Encouraged by this, some villagers also came forward for positive initiatives. After this, in the second phase, more importance was given to the practicality in teaching method. In addition to the traditional method, there was a greater focus on experimentation, especially to attract interest in children and to overcome subject matter towards difficult subjects like English and Mathematics. While arithmetic, geometry and algebra were simplified and taught through experimentation, the English teacher made it compulsory to use English colloquially to avoid group practice and hesitation towards the subject, which benefited children greatly. While the fear of these subjects ended, they also started to look interesting, while the results of the examination also came very positive.

Focusing on general knowledge enhancement through mutual coordination of the Parent Management Committee and teachers also resulted in the National Instrument-cum-Merit Scholarship Examination in the year 2019-20. For the poor students, the committee also got financial help as much as possible, proper reading and reading was arranged for the children of laborers working in brick-kilns. Teacher  Sahu informed that a garden is also being developed in the school in collaboration with the Panchayat. Apart from this, activities like regular monitoring of mid-day meals, honoring cooks were also included. In this way, this school of village Barna has become an example of the spirit of coordination, cohesion and cooperation of the teachers, Vidyarthi Palak Samiti and the villagers, to reflect the saying ‘Where there is a will’.
