Raipur: Big decision: 55 million for home access health facility in 14 municipal corporation areas of the state

60 mobile medical units to be operational in first phase of Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme. 

Raipur 26 September 2020. According to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, home access health facility will be provided to people in slum areas of 14 municipal corporations of Chhattisgarh state. A committee constituted for the implementation of this scheme has been recommended to provide Rs 55 crore for the health service to be started through the Urban Administration and Development Department. Its objective is to provide better medical facilities and free medicines to the people of urban slum areas regularly through mobile medical units.
Regarding the implementation of the Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme, Chief Secretary Shri R.P. The committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Mandal today met through video conferencing. The meeting recommended to provide Rs 55 crore for the implementation of this scheme. The Chief Secretary directed the Urban Administration Department to start this scheme soon. In the initial phase, the scheme will be launched through 60 mobile medical units in slum areas of all 14 municipal corporations of the state, through which health check-up and treatment of people in various neighborhoods and crosses, especially in slum areas, along with urban areas Free medicines will be distributed.
It is worth mentioning here that in connection with the implementation of the Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme, its action plan was reviewed in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel on May 5. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel had given instructions to start this scheme in urban areas at the earliest and provide necessary funds for it.
It was informed at the meeting that the Chief Minister Urban Slum Scheme is to be implemented in the corporation areas through Urban Public Service Society constituted under the chairmanship of the District Collector. RFP for MMU operations by Urban Public Service Societies is under process for all corporations. Through the mobile medical unit, free pathology examination, free medicine, referral based free ambulance, free radiology etc. will be provided in the government hospital for free treatment, along with free medical consultation by the MBBS doctor in the slum areas. On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Department Mr. Amitabh Jain, Labor Department Secretary Mr. Sonmani Bora, Secretary of Urban Administration, Mrs. Alarmalmangai D. were present.
