Director of Health Services reviewed the counseling system of patients being treated in Covid Care Centers and Home Isolation
Raipur. 25 September 2020. Director of Health Services Shri Neeraj Bansod reviewed the arrangements for counseling of patients being treated in Kovid Hospitals, Covid Care Centers and Home Isolations of the State. He emphasized on taking care of his mental health by keeping Kovid-19 patients free from stress, anxiety, apathy and depression. In the online review meeting, Mr. Bansod called upon the Chief Medical and Health Officers of all districts, District Program Managers, District Nodal Officers of National Mental Health Program, Psychiatrists, VKN Trained Physicians, Community and Psychiatric Nurses, Clinical Psychologists and Psychiatric Social Workers of Corona Infectives. Gave necessary guidelines regarding mental health care.
The Director, Health Services, directed the meeting to provide entertainment facilities through audio-visual medium to relieve mental stress in the people living in quarantine and isolation. He asked to issue phone numbers in every district for telephonic counseling for the prevention of mental health problems of Kovid-19 patients. Shri Bansod instructed to impose at least one technical staff duty in all Kovid Care Centers so that patients suffering from mental problems can be identified. He called for ensuring adequate availability of medicines for enzymes and depression in all districts. The Director of Health Services instructed the District Mental Health Team to make mandatory counseling of the person attempting suicide in every development block periodically. He called for training of all staff posted in isolation ward for Psychological First-Aid in the coming October.
In the review meeting, the officials said that during the Corona period, mental disorders such as stress, anxiety, apathy, depression have increased. Their cases have also increased in Chhattisgarh. Counseling is being provided to patients under the National Mental Health Program in all districts of the state. The District Mental Health Team is promoting information about various mental states and measures to reduce mental stress among the people. Counseling report of Kovid Care Centers and Home Isolated Patients and their family members is being sent by the field staff to the state office every week.
