Home Department Review: New transfer policy will be implemented for police officers and employees, Deputy CM’s clear instructions to officers, strictly follow the SOP of NDPS Act

Raipur. A review meeting of the Home Department was held in Mahanadi Bhawan, Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma. Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Pinguwa, Director General of Police Ashok Juneja, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Rahul Bhagat and other senior officers of the department were present in the meeting. In this marathon meeting that lasted the whole day, Deputy Chief Minister Sharma discussed in detail the work of various branches of the Police Department and gave necessary guidelines.

Instructions to follow the SOP of NDPS Act

Let us tell you that in this meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister gave strict instructions to the officers regarding the compliance of the SOP issued under the NDPS Act. He said that strict action should be taken against those involved in the illegal drug trade and if found guilty, the process of confiscating their property should be started immediately. He clarified that if any police officer or employee is found involved in this illegal business, then strict action including immediate dismissal should be ensured against him.

These instructions were given regarding transfer policy and compassionate appointment

Deputy Chief Minister Sharma directed to immediately implement the new transfer policy for the employees and officers of the police department. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the transfer process should be made transparent and fair, so that the departmental efficiency can be improved. In the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister gave instructions to immediately resolve the pending cases of compassionate appointment, giving priority to the families of martyred soldiers. He also asked to ensure that the “Amar Balidani Smarak” of the martyred soldiers should be constructed on priority basis with the consent of their families, so that respect for their martyrdom is ensured at every level.

These instructions were given regarding chit fund companies

While reviewing the actions being taken against chit fund companies, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the remaining assets of such companies should be auctioned soon and the amount received from it should be distributed among the affected investors quickly. He directed the officials to ensure justice to every beneficiary affected by the chit fund scams. Special attention was also given to technical and structural reforms.

Review of progress on controlling cyber crime

It is worth noting that in this meeting, the expansion of Dial 112 service in 17 districts, the functioning of the state level cyber police station and the progress made in controlling cyber crimes were reviewed. The campaigns conducted under the NDPS Act to prevent drug trafficking were assessed. Along with this, proposals for delimitation of police stations and establishment of new police stations were also discussed.

Discussion on traffic management and reduction of accidents

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma discussed the action plan for marking black spots and their solution to make traffic management more effective in the meeting. Emphasis was laid on running a comprehensive awareness campaign and use of new technologies to reduce road accidents. The Deputy Chief Minister directed to prepare special plans to promote traffic awareness in schools. Emphasizing on the welfare of police personnel, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the establishment of Police Public Schools, Police Housing Scheme and the status of KPKB canteen.

Emphasis on police welfare and digitization

The Deputy Chief Minister directed to make the work of the police department more transparent through digitization. He said that police processes and data management should be linked with modern technologies. He directed the departmental officers to study the new technologies being adopted at the international level and prepare a plan to implement them in the state.

Commitment to work and instructions for improving law and order

At the end of the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that every officer and employee of the police department should work with full commitment and dedication. He directed to ensure speedy resolution of all pending cases and effective implementation of departmental schemes. Appreciating the efforts of the police department, the Deputy Chief Minister expressed confidence that the activeness of the department will lead to significant improvement in law and order and security system in the state.
