Raipur. Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer Amit Agarwal has been promoted to the post of Secretary in the Central Government. He has been given the responsibility of the Pharmaceutical Department. Amit Agarwal is the third officer of Chhattisgarh cadre who has got the opportunity to become Secretary.
Before IAS Amit Agarwal, B.S. Baswan and BVR Subramaniam have been promoted as secretaries in the central government. Amit Agarwal’s name is also in the headlines for the new Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh.

IAS Amit Agarwal is a 1993 batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre. He was born on 27 June 1970 in Uttar Pradesh. He has obtained a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur. IAS Amit Agarwal had chosen Madhya Pradesh cadre. After the formation of a separate Chhattisgarh state, Amit Agarwal chose Chhattisgarh cadre. Apart from serving as collector in many districts, Amit Agarwal has been the Finance Secretary and Secretary of Commercial Tax and Technical Education Department in the state government.
