Chief Minister Shri SaiUnion Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, on the second day of his Bastar visit, met the families of the soldiers martyred in the Naxalite attack and the civilians affected by Naxalite violence at Amar Vatika today and expressed his deep condolences.

While talking to the family members, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah said that you have lost your family members in a long and painful battle, this pain cannot be reduced. The central and state governments are with you. To keep the sacrifice and martyrdom of the martyrs everlasting, the Chhattisgarh government is working to preserve their sacred memories.

He said that no one else should have to lose their loved ones like you have lost yours. I pay tribute to the martyrs and all those who lost their lives in Naxalite attacks. I assure you that we will completely eradicate Naxalism from the land of Maa Danteshwari.  

Union Home Minister Shri Shah said that the security agencies and police personnel of the Government of India are working strongly on the Naxal front. The scope of Naxalism has shrunk due to the precise strategy of the last one year and work is being done in a phased manner to speed up a lot of development work. The Naxal eradication campaign in Chhattisgarh is getting full support and cooperation of the Central Government. He said that the government is working on all three fronts for Naxal eradication. Those who surrender and give up the path of Maoist insurgency are being welcomed. They are also being arrested during the Naxal campaign and those who are hell-bent on taking the life of others are being answered in their own language.

Union Minister Mr. Shah said that the Chhattisgarh government has set aside one day a week in the office of Inspector General of Police to listen to the problems of the families of the martyrs. Appreciating this initiative of the government, he said that the Collector should also be present in the IG office and be a part of this campaign. Union Minister Mr. Shah said that no one can reduce the pain of losing loved ones but we will make some arrangements that can reduce your pain.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that the martyrdom of your family members will not go in vain. The Central and Chhattisgarh governments will jointly take care of your interests. We are all determined to do what is best for all of you. He expressed his condolences to the family members and saluted the martyrs.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that it is a matter of great happiness for us that every time our soldiers have achieved success on the Naxal front, the Union Home Minister has encouraged them and has always patted their backs. Even today he has come to encourage you and congratulate you for your courage and determination. He said that the Chhattisgarh government will install statues in the villages of the martyred soldiers to preserve their memories.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that we wanted to meet the families of the soldiers who were martyred for peace and progress in Bastar and the families affected by Naxalite violence. All of you are part of our family and this sorrow of losing our loved ones is giving equal pain to all of us.

On this occasion, families of martyred soldiers and families of civilians affected by Naxalite violence were present.
