Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai virtually inaugurated the newly constructed hostel building for the students of the medical college during the White Court Ceremony of Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Medical Science and Research. He congratulated all the medical students for the hostel building.
On this occasion, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Finance Minister OP Choudhary, MLAs Indra Kumar Sahu and Ravi Shankar Maharaj along with professors, doctors and students of the medical college were present. College Dean Dr. Kundan E. Gedam administered the oath of medical code of conduct to the students entering the MBBS course.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said on this occasion that medical science is not only a good career for the youth but also provides an opportunity to serve the people. He said that life is the most precious treasure, and you people provide life-giving relief to people with good treatment, that is why people consider doctors as God. All of you should do your work with full devotion, the blessings you will get from this will bring more happiness and prosperity in your life.
During this time, Chief Minister Sai also informed about the release of Rs 231 crore for the expansion of Ambedkar Hospital and construction of a 700-bed hospital. He said that after the completion of the hospital building, the capacity of Ambedkar Hospital will be 2 thousand patients. He informed that work is being done to increase the number of MBBS as well as PG seats in the state. The Chief Minister also informed about the decision to start PG seats for Obstetrics and Gynecology and Dermatology in Raigarh Medical College.
Chief Minister Sai said that along with our 10 government medical colleges, private sector medical colleges here are also playing a strong role in strengthening medical education in the state and preparing a new generation of promising doctors.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the extent of expansion of medical education in Chhattisgarh in the last decade has never happened before, its direct effect is visible in the health services of the state. On this occasion, the Chief Minister remembered former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said that he gave the gift of AIIMS to Chhattisgarh, which has emerged as a major center of medical facilities not only for Chhattisgarh but also for the patients of the surrounding areas.
Addressing the medical students, Health Minister Jaiswal said that all of you will become good doctors. Service is primary in this profession, employment comes later. If all of you join this profession considering it as service, then the state will always benefit from it. He said that the establishment of private institutions in the field of health in the state will also help in fulfilling the objectives of the government. The minister also shared information about medical education, health infrastructure and the efforts of the state government in the field of health in the state.
Finance Minister OP Choudhary said that all of you students entering medical education today will bring glory to the state along with your parents. You will contribute in making India a developed nation. Our youth are making their mark at the national and international level. The Finance Minister said that we will establish Nava Raipur as a growth hub of the service sector. Our government is trying to establish Raipur as a health care destination so that the people of the state can get high-level health services.

It is worth noting that a new hostel building has been constructed for the students of Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Medical Sciences, in which 120 seats have been made for girls and 100 seats for boys.
