Raipur 28 November 2024
The history of tribal society is linked with the first footsteps of man on earth. Tribal culture has kept Lord Shri Ram in its heart. Lord Ram spent his exile in Chhattisgarh, it was here that he ate the leftover berries of Mother Shabari. The question of tribal identity is linked to the identity of India’s eternal tradition. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said this while addressing a one-day seminar organized on the subject of tribal identity, existence and development at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur today. He said that it is a matter of pride for us that today we have got the leadership of the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji who is sensitive towards the identity and heritage of tribal communities. Today our sister from the tribal community, Mrs. Draupadi Murmu, is occupying the highest post in India.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the tribal society is a culturally rich society. This society opposes bad practices openly. Remembering the contribution of tribal leaders in protecting the culture and independence of India, on the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Tribal Pride Day was celebrated across the country from 13 to 15 November. The Chief Minister shared important information related to the traditions, culture, customs, festivals and schemes being run by the government for tribal upliftment.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the padyatra organized in Jashpur district on November 13 was so successful that the Prime Minister of the country Shri Narendra Modi openly praised it and described such events as important in the development and upliftment of the tribal society. He said that the national event organized on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day gave the tribal community from other states a wonderful opportunity to know and understand each other’s culture. Shri Sai said that former Prime Minister respected Atal ji first created a separate Tribal Welfare Ministry during his tenure and laid a strong foundation for the development of tribals.
He said that we are making our plans and policies to establish equality of opportunities in the plains and tribal areas so that every community of Chhattisgarh has equal opportunities for development and the tribal society can join the mainstream of the development of the whole India by winning over its natural and geographical complexities. When we protect the identity of the tribal communities, preserve and promote their culture, glorify their history and their heroes, then definitely the glory of Mother India will increase, her glory will be sung.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that for the overall development of the tribal communities of India, Modi ji is running schemes like PM Janman Yojana and Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan. These schemes are proving to be revolutionary schemes to bring change in the lives of tribal communities. Apart from this, tribal communities have got great support from many schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme. In the last 11 months, the Chhattisgarh government has taken rapid steps to establish peace in the Bastar region. Through the Niyyad Nella Nar Yojana, a unique initiative has been taken to take the government schemes to remote areas. 34 new camps of security forces have been opened in the Bastar region and the villagers are getting the benefits of government schemes in about 96 villages.
Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that such events are necessary so that the coming generation knows about the glorious history of tribal heroes. It is our responsibility to take their values to the next generation. He said that the tribal society has always worked towards the conservation of nature.
The keynote speaker of the seminar, Mr. Atul Jog, said that the tribal society has done the work of human service without any selfishness. A beautiful example of this was also seen in the announcements of Padma awards, in which a large number of people from the tribal community have been included.
Mr. Pawan Sai and Mr. Anurag Jain also addressed the seminar. On this occasion, Secretary of Higher Education Department Mr. Prasanna R. gave information about the schemes being run by the Chhattisgarh Government for the students of tribal community.
