Amla Candy: Amla is available in abundance in the market during the winter season. Amla is considered very beneficial for health. It contains a lot of nutrients, and hence one must consume amla in any form.
Some people make pickles of amla while some people make its marmalade and eat amla throughout the year. Today we will tell you about making delicious candy from amla which will be liked by everyone, children and adults alike. So let’s know the method of making it.
Material
- Amla – 500 grams
- Sugar – 300 grams
- Water – 1 cup
- Salt – ½ tsp
- Black salt – 1 teaspoon
- Ajwain – ½ teaspoon
- Asafoetida – 1 pinch
- Black pepper – ½ teaspoon
- Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons
- Turmeric – ½ teaspoon
- Sugar syrup
Amla Candy: Method
- 1- To make Amla candy, first wash the Amla thoroughly, remove the seeds and cut it. After this, boil water and put the Amla in it.
- 2- Now boil it for 5-10 minutes. Then remove the gooseberries and let them cool. Now put 1 cup water and sugar in a pan and boil it.
- 3- When the sugar dissolves well and the syrup is ready, add asafoetida, celery, black pepper, turmeric and salt and mix. Boil this syrup for 5-7 minutes so that the syrup becomes thick. When the temperature of the syrup cools down a bit, add lemon juice to it.
- 4- Now add the boiled gooseberry to the syrup and mix well. Let it cook on low flame for 5-7 minutes so that the gooseberry absorbs the syrup and its taste becomes rich.
- 5- Now take out the Amla candy and place it on a plate or tray to dry properly. Leave it to dry in the sun for 1-2 days. When the Amla is completely dry, your sweet and sour Amla candy is ready. You can keep it in an airtight container and consume it later.
