In the upcoming Raipur Nagar (South) Assembly by-election to be held on November 13, voters can vote by showing 12 alternative photo documents in addition to the photo identity card. Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that the Election Commission of India has issued voter photo identity cards to all voters. The Commission expects all voters to show the voter photo identity card issued by the Commission to ensure their identity before casting their vote at the polling station.Chief Electoral Officer Reena Kangale said that if any voter is unable to show the photo identity card, then 12 alternative documents have also been allowed for them by the Election Commission of India. Such voters who are unable to present their voter photo identity card can vote by showing 12 alternative photo identity documents to establish their identity such as Aadhar card, MNREGA job card, photo passbook issued by banks/post offices, smart card issued by the Ministry of Labor under the Health Insurance Scheme, driving license, PAN card, smart card issued by the Registrar General of India (RGI) under the National Population Register (NPR), Indian passport, pension document with photo, service identity card with photo issued by the Central/State Government/Public Sector Undertakings/Public Limited Companies to their employees, government identity card issued to MPs/MLAs/Legislative Council members and Unique Disability ID (UDID) card issued to Divyangjans by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Government of India.
