After taking oath on December 13, CM Vishnudev Sai, on December 25, on the occasion of Good Governance Day, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, fulfilling Modi’s guarantee, transferred an amount of Rs 3716 crore as bonus for two years of outstanding paddy to the accounts of more than 12 lakh farmers. During his Jashpur visit on March 12, Chief Minister Sai had announced to provide the support price and the difference amount of Rs 3100 per quintal to the farmers under the Agriculture Unnati Yojana in accordance with Modi’s guarantee. In the Kharif marketing year 2023-24, 144.92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 24.72 lakh farmers at the rate of 21 quintals per acre and Rs 3100 per quintal.

Addressing a gathering of farmers, CM Sai said that as per our promise, we paid the price of Rs 3100 per quintal of paddy and purchased 21 quintals of paddy per acre. Last year, 145 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was purchased. About Rs 49 thousand crore has been transferred to the accounts of farmers through paddy purchase at the support price and the procurement price announced by the state government and the bonus due for two years.
Paddy procurement will start from November 14
He further said that in view of the good harvest in the current Kharif season, the best possible arrangements will be made in the state for purchasing paddy at the support price. This year, paddy procurement will begin from November 14. This year too, record paddy procurement is expected.
