Chhattisgarh is a young state and in its youth, this state has shown its talent and ability in various fields. On the occasion of Rajyotsav, take a pledge to preserve your heritage and make Chhattisgarh a leading state. This appeal to the citizens was made by the chief guest Governor Shri Ramen Deka on the second day of the Rajyotsav program. The program was presided over by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai.

In his address on this occasion, Mr. Deka said that today is a day of pride for all of us. 24 years have passed since the establishment of our Chhattisgarh state and this is a historic moment for all of us. In these years, we have built a strong base and have resolved to move continuously towards our goal. On this occasion, he also saluted the ancestors who dreamt of the creation of the state and struggled for it. Praising Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, he said that the state government is running various schemes for public welfare, for which the Chief Minister deserves congratulations. Meaningful efforts are being made to strengthen agriculture and rural economy in Chhattisgarh. Continuous initiatives are also being taken for the upliftment and welfare of tribes, women and youth.

The Governor said that in the last 23 years, a solid foundation has been created for the development of Chhattisgarh. In this period, the state has also developed a distinct identity culturally. At present, all-round efforts are being made for cultural prosperity. Chhattisgarh has ample natural resources, whether it is forest, minerals or human resources, all are yet to be properly exploited. Along with the exploitation of resources, we will also have to think deeply about what should be the scale of development. In the continuous process of development, it will also have to be kept in mind that balance with nature should be maintained. Today, we all have to take a pledge that we will make collective efforts to take Chhattisgarh on the path of development.

Peace is necessary for the progress of the state. For the past few years, some parts of Chhattisgarh have been affected by Naxal violence. To end this violence, joint efforts are being made by the central and state governments under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. It is hoped that soon the state will be free from this violence and Chhattisgarh will move ahead in the race of rapid development.

The Governor appealed to all the citizens to contribute as much as possible to make this state a leading state and also take a pledge today that we will protect the public properties and cultural heritage of our state and city, will take care of it and will also inspire others for this.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, while addressing the Rajyotsav function, said that those who were born and grew up in Chhattisgarh during the time of united Madhya Pradesh, know very well the difference between then and now. They will remember how famines used to occur frequently in Chhattisgarh. Farmers had to migrate for livelihood. Fortunately, when Atal ji became the Prime Minister, he understood the pain of Chhattisgarh and created a separate state. 24 years have passed. Chhattisgarh is moving rapidly towards development.

The Chief Minister said that we have given maximum space to folk artists in the program. Along with this, we have also given space to Chhollywood and Bollywood artists. I congratulate all the artists. Our art is a medium to express our thoughts. The culture of Chhattisgarh is very rich in this matter, we have artists of every genre. Our government is encouraging folk singing, folk art and all genres in Chhattisgarh. Shilp Grams have been established.

The Chief Minister said that we are also preserving our festivals, Dev Sthals, Madai fairs. The biggest strength for development comes from culture. Culture tells us what should be the direction of development. What should be the priority, what should be the thinking, what should be the approach and what should be the goal. Culture decides the conduct, thoughts and behavior of every citizen and inspires the government to formulate policies accordingly.

The Chief Minister said that we have prepared a vision document for developed Chhattisgarh in accordance with the goal of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, in which culture has been given maximum importance. Culture creates strength in the society. Chhattisgarh is very rich in terms of natural beauty. There are great possibilities of tourism here. He said how the pilgrimages related to Lord Shri Ram are being developed. The Dham of Mata Shabari and Mata Kaushalya are being improved. There are many historical places like Rajim, Sirpur, Madheshwar, Bhoramdev, Barsoor, etc., which are being developed.

The Chief Minister said that our handicrafts are being preserved and encouraged. Khadi clothes are being encouraged by giving a discount of 25 percent. Along with all this, the food of the state has its own specialty. Conservation and promotion of culture is among the top priorities of the government. We have built and nurtured this state and we will continue to nurture it in the future too.

On this occasion, Chhattisgarh Natural Tourism Magazine and Culture Department’s magazine ‘Bihaniya’ were released. On this occasion, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Director General of Police Mr. Ashok Juneja along with other dignitaries and officials were present.
