 Kawardha. Congress is going to launch a big movement on many issues including the immediate release of innocent villagers arrested in the Loharidih case and the increasing crime in the state. The District Congress held a press conference today and announced a sit-in demonstration in Kawardha on October 21 and a siege of the office of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma. District President Horiram Sahu said, many leaders and workers including Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress President Deepak Baij, former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will participat

These are the demands of Congress

  1. Increase in crime: In view of the increasing crime in the state and Kawardha district, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma should resign.
  2. Loharidih incident: In the case of brutal assault on villagers and death of Prashant Sahu due to police beating, FIR should be lodged against the responsible police staff and SP Abhishek Pallav and they should be dismissed.
  3. Protest against arrest: Out of the 167 villagers arrested in the Loharidih case, the innocent ones should be released immediately and a fresh investigation should be conducted under the supervision of the High Court.
  4. Compensation and job: The families of the deceased Shiv Prasad alias Kachru and Prashant Sahu should be given a compensation amount of Rs one crore and a government job to one member of the family.
