Raipur, 29 August 2020.Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Charan Das Mahanta unveiled the press to press the button for the construction of new building of Chhattisgarh Assembly in Nava Raipur today in the virtual presence of MP Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and MP Mr. Rahul Gandhi and Mr. Motilal Vora. This building will be built on 51 acres behind Mahanadi and Indravati Bhawan in Sector 19 of Nava Raipur at a cost of about Rs 270 crores. The main building will be constructed in 52 thousand 497 square meters.
On this occasion, MP Smt. Sonia Gandhi while congratulating and wishing the people of Chhattisgarh for the new building of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, said that Parliament and Assembly are the biggest pillars and sacred temples of democracy. Here the constitution is protected, but it has to be remembered that the constitution will avoid emotions, not buildings. He said that our forefathers fought for freedom, a lot is yet to be done to fulfill their dreams. Referring to the current state of the country, Smt. Sonia Gandhi said that the forces that spread hatred in the country and society have become a challenge in front of democracy. Freedom of expression is in danger, democratic institutions are being demolished. Hatred forces want people from all sections of society to keep their mouths shut. She wants to silence the nation. Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar would not have thought that people would have to face such a difficult time after 73 years of independence. He said that today we should take an oath that we will take decisions keeping in mind the last person of the society. He appreciated the functioning of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and Chhattisgarh Government and said that Chhattisgarh Government is taking decisions keeping in mind the last person. On this occasion, he mentioned the work being done by the Government of Chhattisgarh in the interest of farmers, tribals, poor as well as Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana, Godan Nyaya Yojana, Suchitan Abhiyan, Tendupatta collection rate increase and said that Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel Working for the development of all classes from an inclusive perspective.

 

MP Shri Rahul Gandhi said in his sent message that the Government of Chhattisgarh is fulfilling its responsibility towards the people in a better way. He appreciated the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel for the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana and Godhan Nyaya Yojana of the Government of Chhattisgarh, and said that the Government of Chhattisgarh, with its decision, has worked to bring money into the hands of farmers-poor-laborers. He hoped that the people-oriented work of the Chhattisgarh government will continue. Shri Rahul Gandhi congratulated everyone for the foundation stone of the new assembly of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel started his address on the occasion with cheers from Chhattisgarh Mahtari and Bharat Mata. He said that Chhattisgarh government is taking all-round measures to ensure that Nava Raipur Atal Nagar is inhabited. Housing has been started last year for cabinet colleagues and officers-employees. There was a slight delay in work due to corona infection. Parliamentary Secretaries have been allotted accommodation in Nava Raipur itself. The Chief Secretary has started living in Nava Raipur. He hoped that in the coming years, the Governor, Ministers and all those associated with governance will start living here, facilities will increase here. All the obstacles to settle this new city will be removed. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that it will be our endeavor that the new building of the Assembly be ready soon and all of us will sit here to serve about one crore three crore people of Chhattisgarh and Chhattisgarh Mahtari. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel thanked the MP Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Mr. Rahul Gandhi for the virtual presence at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Vidhan Sabha Bhawan.

 

Assembly Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant while congratulating Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel on the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new building of Chhattisgarh Assembly said that according to his vision, the foundation stone of a grand building equipped with well-equipped modern technology has been laid. It is not a temple, but a temple of democracy. On this occasion, we all legislators take a pledge that we will take the lead in strengthening the democratic system of India. On this occasion, he saluted the ancestors who participated in the construction of Chhattisgarh and hoped that with the blessings of the forefathers, we will all be engaged in the service of Chhattisgarh Mahtari. On this occasion, Dr. Mahant, referring to Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and his government, said that all of you have got the opportunity to serve Chhattisgarh Mehtari. He did it for the betterment of the poor, farmers, laborers, tribals, deprived by the government

Public Works and Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu said that the building of Chhattisgarh Assembly is being constructed on the vacant land between Mahanadi Bhavan and Indravati Bhavan in the back. He said that its outline has been kept like North Avenue and South Avenue in front of Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. A path like Rajpath will be constructed in front of the new assembly building, through which the assembly can be reached on foot from Mahanadi and Indravati Bhavan. The new building to be built in the Chhattisgarh Assembly will get a glimpse of the glorious and rich culture and tradition of Chhattisgarh. A state-of-the-art library and auditorium will also be constructed in the assembly building. Keeping in mind the future, the seating arrangement of about 150 to 200 MLAs and the Presidential Gallery, Officer Gallery, Eminent Audience Gallery, Journalist Gallery and Audience Gallery will be constructed in the new assembly building. The rooms, meeting halls and staff rooms will be constructed for the Speaker, Chief Minister and Ministers, Leader of the Opposition and Deputy Speaker and Chief Secretary, and Principal Secretary, Secretary and other Secretaries of the Legislative Assembly. Construction of various committee rooms, library, allopathic, homeopathic and ayurvedic dispensary, post office, railway reservation counter and bank will also be constructed in the new building. Road construction, plantation and beautification will be done around the assembly.
