Raipur, 26 September 2024
Today, about 55 citizens of Bastar, who are victims of Maoist violence, were invited to the Chief Minister’s residence office, who had recently gone to Delhi to express their pain and problems. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai could not attend the program due to flight disruption due to bad weather. In the absence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, his wife Smt. Kaushalya Devi Sai welcomed the people of Bastar, who are victims of Maoist violence.
While giving the message of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai to the Naxal victims, Smt. Kaushalya Devi Sai said that the courage of all you citizens of Bastar is commendable. Peace has returned to Bastar only because of your courage, hard work and efforts. You have seen, lived and suffered the Maoist terror with your own eyes. You have faced this tragedy with great courage. She said that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai is on tour and could not come among you. You are welcome and congratulated at the Chief Minister’s residence. She presented a bag and track suit as a gift to all the guests. During this, she also asked how was the experience of the Delhi trip, on which everyone said in one voice that this trip was very good, and many villagers also shared the experience of traveling in an airplane for the first time.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma in his address said that due to the efforts of the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Sai, development work has gained momentum in Bastar. He said that you went to Delhi and presented the plight of Bastar to the central government and the entire country, which no one had done till date. Now the whole country has come to know the pain of Maoist violence. He mentioned the determination of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah that Naxalism has to be completely eradicated from Bastar. Shri Sharma also said, you showed your courage amidst the threat of Naxalite bullets and IEDs. Development is not possible with guns and violence. Now the time has come for Bastar to move forward in the direction of peace and development.
It is noteworthy that these citizens affected by Maoist violence have recently protested at Jantar Mantar and JNU in Delhi and have also met Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah and President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu to share their problems caused by the acts of Naxalites. The main purpose of their Delhi visit was to expose the lies spread by Naxal-supporting groups and to make the voice of people affected by the violence reach Delhi. MLA Mr. Ishwar Sahu and members of Bastar Peace Committee were present on this occasion.
