Silk farming farmers received award from Union Minister Shri Giriraj Singh
Chief Minister congratulated and wished the silk rearing farmers

Farmers of Chhattisgarh have received another big award in the field of silk rearing. Union Minister Shri Giriraj Singh honoured Chhattisgarh with the Best Achiever Award for Tussar worm rearing and Tussar yarn making activities in a programme organised on 20 September on the 75th foundation day of Central Silk Board in Bengaluru. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has congratulated and wished the officers and employees of the department and the silk rearing farmers for this.
Expressing happiness on this achievement of Village Industry, Secretary cum Director Shri Yashwant Kumar said that after testing and recommendation by Chhattisgarh Village Industry Department, Shri Santosh Kumar Devangan, Village-Seoni, District-Janjgir-Champa was nominated as yarn maker and Shri Ganesh Ram Sidar, Village-Bar, District-Sarangarh, Bilaigarh as Tussar Worm Rearer, and the complete compilation of the best achievement letter received by these farmers in both the categories and the success story from the words of the beneficiaries along with photographs and videos was sent to the Joint Secretary, Central Silk Board, Bengaluru.
The Village Industries Department (Silk Division) of Chhattisgarh Government had sent Tussar worm rearer and yarn maker farmer from the state to participate in the “Platinum Jubilee Celebration”. The participating farmers of both these disciplines have been awarded by the Central Silk Board, Bangalore.
