Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that Chandranahu Kurmi Kshatriya community is a prosperous and progressive community, which has its own rich history and culture. People of Kurmi community have made significant contributions in every field. He was addressing the Central Convention organized by Chandranahu Kurmi Kshatriya community in Kawardha today. On this occasion, he announced to allot 5 acres of land for educational development on the demand of the community. In the program, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, former Governor of Maharashtra Shri Ramesh Bais, Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma were welcomed and greeted by garlanding them with gaja and turban on behalf of the community.

 Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that on 13th September, our Chhattisgarh government completed nine months. In these nine months, we have fulfilled most of the guarantees given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that while fulfilling Modiji’s guarantee, we made immediate payment of Rs. 32 thousand crores of support price to the farmers and after that on 12th January, the difference amount of Rs. 13 thousand 320 crores was transferred to 24 lakh 75 thousand farmers under Krishak Unnati Yojana. He said that under Mahtari Vandan Yojana, more than 70 lakh women are being given assistance of Rs. 1 thousand each per month. The rate of remuneration for tendu leaf collection was increased from Rs. 4000 per standard sack to Rs. 5500. The announcement of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for needy beneficiaries was fulfilled.

While addressing, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that this society has the pride of being the descendants of Chhatrapati Shivaji and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Dr. Khubchand Baghel, the visionary of Chhattisgarh state, belonged to this society. He told that many revolutionaries from this society have participated in the freedom struggle. He said that Chhattisgarh is developing due to the good governance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai. He told that in the country only the farmers of Chhattisgarh are getting the support price of paddy at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal. Former Governor and Union Minister Shri Ramesh Bais said that the society will be organized only when everyone participates in it. He said that participation of women is necessary to take the society forward. Shri Bais said that we should work in a planned manner, our aim should be to take the weak and poor of the society forward so that the society moves forward by getting organized together.

During his address in the convention, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that the society is moving forward by following the ideals of great men. He said that the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the source of inspiration for the youth, will be installed in Kawardha so that the youth of Kawardha and Chhattisgarh keep getting continuous inspiration. On the demand of the society, he announced Rs 25 lakh for the installation of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Union Minister Shri Tokhan Sahu said that the society has made a big contribution in the history of the country. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel tied the country in the thread of unity. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi respected him and established the country’s tallest Statue of Unity. The society is progressing in every field. MP Shri Santosh Pandey said that the Kurmi Kshatriya society has achieved in every field. He said that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai is the head of the state, the society is developing during his tenure. Lives are changing due to the welfare schemes of the government. MLA Shri Dharamlal Kaushik said that the society in which the names of Shivaji Maharaj and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel are mentioned does not need any introduction. Today, Chhattisgarh is progressing due to the contribution of the Kurmi community.

On this occasion, Durg Rural MLA Shri Lalit Chandrakar, former MLA Vinod Chandrakar, Shri Lal Bahadur Chandravanshi, former Minister Shri Poonam Chandrakar, former Parliamentary Secretary Motiram Chandravanshi, officers of the society and a large number of social friends and public representatives were present.
