The residents of Kurdi village, who face a severe problem of drinking water during summers, are now getting pure drinking water through the better operation of Jal-Jeevan Mission. Under this scheme, the facility of pure drinking water is being provided by providing tap connection to every house, due to which the villagers are very happy and have expressed their gratitude to the government and administration.

It is noteworthy that under the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ retrofitting scheme in Gram Panchayat Kurdi, the Public Health Engineering Department constructed a high level water tank and extended the pipeline. Through this scheme, pure drinking water is now available in every house every morning and evening.

Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sahu told that earlier there was a lot of problem due to water shortage in the village. Many times water was brought through tankers from other villages, but now under Jal-Jeevan Mission, water is reaching every house through water tank and tap connection. Village Kurdi women like Mrs. Rupa Bai Sahu and Heera Bai told that earlier they had to stand in long queues to get water from hand pumps, but now with the installation of taps in the house, they are getting pure water in sufficient quantity, which has made their life very easy.

Principal of Primary School Kurdi, Smt. Khileswari Sahu told that various activities are regularly organized to make school children aware of water conservation and its better use. This has developed an understanding of water conservation among children and villagers. Anganwadi Centre Assistant Smt. Vaijanti Thakur told that now pure drinking water is being available from tap in Anganwadi too, due to which water is being used for drinking water of children, cooking food and kitchen garden. All the villagers of village Kurdi thanked and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai for getting pure drinking water through tap in every house under Jal-Jeevan Mission and its successful implementation.
