Raipur, 27 August 2020. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has taken many important decisions to preserve and promote the culture and traditions of Chhattisgarh. In the series, museums are being constructed in other districts including the capital Raipur to preserve the culture and tradition of the primitive tribes of the state, weapons and food and useful things in daily life. The newly built Jashpur Archaeological Museum in Jashpur district has preserved things of cultural and archaeological significance of 13 tribes. While regional features will be identified with this museum, students will get the benefit of the museum.
The museum collects and retains the old things of 13 tribes Birhor, Pahari Korwa, Asura, Oraon, Nagesia, Kanwar, Gond, Khairwar, Munda, Khadia, Bhuihar, Agharia etc. The museum also houses miniature rock tools, Neolithic tools, historical instruments. Also, Indian coins from 1835 to 1940 have also been stored. The museum also houses pottery, dheki of Korwa tribe, jewelery, arrow-bow, cherry, tawa, doti, haraka etc. Also photographs of rock paintings found in Jashpur have also been displayed. The canopy, Mala, Solidamala, Karanjful, Hassali, Bahuta, Pari, Berahat, etc. of the Scheduled Tribe Singar have also been preserved. The museum houses the tongs, the shackles, the threshing for the lime, the khadru, the dams for the paddy, the batla for the salt, and the khatanshi nagera, ancient instruments blades, scraper, picket, celt, ringstone. Jashpur Museum has been made beautiful and attractive.
