Chief Minister called for celebrating the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Balram Ji, the architect of agriculture, as Kisan Diwas every year

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has said that cow-based natural farming will open the way to happiness and prosperity for the farmers. Farmers of the rice bowl will prosper by joining organic farming. He was addressing a workshop organized at the local Indira Gandhi Agricultural University on organic and natural farming. On this occasion, he also called for celebrating the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Balram Ji on the sixth day of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapad month as Kisan Diwas every year. Excellent farmers doing cow-based organic and natural farming and inspiring farmers in this field were honored.
In the workshop, Chief Minister Shri Sai, while congratulating and wishing the people of the state on the occasion of Lord Shri Balram Ji Jayanti, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the Ministry of Farmer Welfare was formed keeping the prosperity of the farmers of the country as a priority. Through this ministry, work is being done on the betterment of farming and increasing the income of farmers. To double the income of farmers, continuous efforts are being made to increase the participation of farmers in areas like horticulture, fisheries and animal husbandry. On this occasion, an exhibition based on organic and natural farming was also organized. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Balram Ji, Kisan Diwas was organized in all the Krishi Vigyan Kendras of the state including the capital.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that a large population of the country is dependent on agriculture for their livelihood. Today, many innovations are taking place in the field of agriculture, which are benefiting the farmers. He said that earlier farmers were forced to take money from moneylenders and mahajans at very high interest rates. Our former Prime Minister respected Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji understood the pain of farmers and made arrangements for Kisan Credit Card (KCC) for farmers. Today farmers are getting loans either free of cost or at very low interest.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that our government has given Rs 3716 crore to the farmers of the state as bonus amount for two years of paddy. A record 145 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased at the rate of 21 quintals per acre and Rs 3100 per quintal. He said that a provision of more than Rs 2000 crore has been made in the budget for expansion of irrigation facilities in the state. With the increase in irrigation facilities, the income of farmers will increase. Along with this, we are also working to repair old irrigation projects.
Shri Dinesh Kulkarni of All India Kisan Sangh gave detailed information about cow-based natural farming. He said that today there is a need for organic and natural farming. Natural farming should be promoted as per the demand. He said that we should be ideologically mature for organic and natural farming. He said that there is a mention in the Gita about cow-based organic and natural farming. He said that Lord Shri Krishna himself has inspired people to do cow rearing.
Minister of Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare and Biotechnology Shri Ramvichar Netam said that in the last 10 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s tenure, there has been a vast change in the field of agriculture. The Central Government and the State Government have taken policy decisions in the interest of farmers by giving priority to farmers, due to which farmers are becoming economically strong. He said that in today’s era, we need to move towards cow-based organic and natural farming as per the demand, so that the economic condition of the farmer can be strengthened. He said that due to the policy decisions and actions led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the farmers of the state are becoming strong today. Farmers are now adopting farming as a business. He said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, a good environment has been created among the farmers of the state.
MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal said that it reminds us of the contribution of Lord Shri Balram Ji in the field of agriculture. In the present times, we should move forward in the direction of fulfilling the objective of this Jayanti celebration by promoting organic and natural farming. He said that we need to move forward in cow-based natural farming with the help of research and scientific techniques of agricultural scientists. He said that the objective of Lord Shri Balram Ji’s Jayanti will be fulfilled only when farmers will be aware of the benefits of organic and natural farming. The welcome speech was given by Dr. Girish Chandel, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University. On this occasion, MLA Shri Motilal Sahu, President of All India Kisan Sangh, Chhattisgarh Province, Shri Suresh Chandravanshi and a large number of farmers were present.
