Raipur: Successful implementation of river bank plantation program under the guidance of Forest Minister Mr. Akbar: More than 10 lakh saplings planted on the banks of 14 rivers in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, 27 August 2020. Under the river bank plantation program by the Forest Department in the state, planting of 10 lakh 39 thousand plants on the banks of 14 different rivers is on completion. This includes plantation of 946 hectares of area along the river bank under Campa item during the current year.
The riverbank planting program was successfully implemented in the state under the guidance of Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Rakesh Chaturvedi informed that under this, Mahanadi, Kotri River, Medki River, Bhapra River, Arpa River, Maniyari River, Agar River, Sakri River, Indravati River, Orange River, Pari River, Kharun River, Rehar River and Plantation work is included on the banks of the Atem River. Plants planted under riverbank plantation program include Peepal, Mango, Amla, Arjun, Bamboo, Shishu, Kahua, Jamun, Neem, Karanja, Mahua, Serus, Acacia and other mixed species plants.
In this regard, Chief Executive Officer of Campa, Shri V.V. Srinivasa Rao said that these include planting 4 lakh 94 thousand 87 plants in 449 hectare area of ​​Arpa river, Maniyari and Agar river under Bilaspur forest circle. Of these, 3 lakh 30 thousand saplings are planted in 300 hectare area of ​​Arpa river under Bilaspur forest division and 1 lakh 20 thousand 637 saplings in 110 hectare area of ​​Arpa river under Marwahi forest division. Apart from this, 21 thousand 450 saplings are planted in 20 hectare area under Maniyari and Agar river under Mungeli forest division and 22 thousand saplings in 20 hectare area of ​​Arpa river under forest area of ​​Bilaspur.
Similarly, under the Kanker Forest Circle, planting 22 thousand saplings in 20 hectare area of ​​Kotri river in West Bhanupratappur forest division, 11 thousand saplings in 10 hectare area of ​​Medhki river and 11 thousand saplings in 10 hectare area of ​​Bhapra river. Under Durg forest circle, 10 thousand 375 saplings are planted in 10.45 hectare area of ​​Sakri river in Kavardha forest division. These include the planting of 77 thousand in 70 hectare area of ​​Indravati river and 11 thousand in 10 hectare area of ​​orange river and 11 thousand in 10 hectare of Indravati river under Bastal forest division under Jagdalpur forest circle. Apart from this, 26 thousand 400 saplings are planted in 24 hectare area of ​​Indravati river under Dantewada forest division. Under Raipur Forest Circle, 26 thousand 400 saplings are planted in 24 hectare area in the tributaries of Mahanadi of Balodabazar forest division.
Under Dhamtari forest cover, 27 thousand 500 saplings in 25 hectare area of ​​Pari River, 16 thousand 500 saplings in 15 hectares of Mahanadi, 12 thousand 100 saplings in 11 hectares of Kharun river and 79 thousand 332 saplings in 72 hectare area of ​​Mahanadi River. is. Plantation of 21 thousand 230 plants in the 19 hectare area of ​​the Kharun River and 83 thousand 600 acres in the Mahanadi 76 hectare area under the Raipur Forest Division. Apart from this, under the Surguja Forest Circle, planting of 77 thousand in 70 hectare area of ​​Rehar river in Surajpur forest division and 22 thousand plantation in 20 hectare area of ​​Atem river in Surguja forest.
