Speaker House will become a centre of literature and culture – Dr. Raman Singh
Congratulating the author of the book, Dr. Raman Singh said that Ashish Singh has done a great job on the history of Raipur city. Raipur has been a historical city since ancient times. Raipur was given many names in different periods. For example, sometimes it was called Kanchanpur, sometimes Kanakpur. This shows that the importance of Raipur has been like gold. Raipur has also been called Raipur. Ray means Goddess Lakshmi and Pur means residence. That is, the place where Goddess Lakshmi resides.
During this time, Dr. Raman Singh also said that Chhattisgarh has its own glorious history. The glorious pages of Raipur and the state are scattered in the pages of history. We all have to work together to preserve these pages. We have to tell and show Raipur from the ancient times to the present. There are many historical heritages and signs inside Raipur. During this time, Raman Singh shared stories related to the Kalchuri dynasty, fort, Budha Talab, Collectorate Building and Babulal Talkies, as well as the days of his college studies in Raipur in the 70s.
During this time Dr. Raman Singh also announced that we will make the Speaker House a centre of literature and culture. If the state’s litterateurs, writers, cultural workers want to organize any literary event or book release, they can organize the event in the Speaker House. Its proper arrangements are being made in the auditorium inside the house. A notice has to be given at least a week in advance for the event. I invite the litterateurs and writers to organize a better event and keep working in this direction.
We are committed to preserve the memories of our ancestors – Vijay Sharma
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that the historical document prepared by Ashish Bhaiyya is important. I congratulate him for writing this book. I have not been able to read the book yet, but while turning the pages, my eyes fell on a hundred-year-old building in Raipur Lagar. This shows how Raipur city must have been a century ago. We all have to make similar efforts together. By turning the pages of the past, the present can get knowledge of the future. What I mean to say is that we should keep bringing the documented history in front of the new generation. I would like to say that even after the formation of Chhattisgarh state, when Dr. Raman Singh’s government was in power for 15 years, the work of preserving the memories of ancestors was done and today again BJP’s government is in power, so I want to assure that we are committed to preserve and enhance the memories of ancestors.
The program was presided over by litterateur Dr. Ramkumar Behar. He said that Ashish Thakur ji has mentioned many historical events of Chhattisgarh in this book named Raipur. This is a research based book. Historian Dr. L.K. Nigam said that governments should take reference of such books and work towards preserving historical monuments and documents. Historian Dr. Ramendranath Mishra said that Raipur city history is very ancient. By digging at many places within Raipur, the past periods will start coming out. Raipur has also been a big trade center since centuries. Culture expert Ashok Tiwari said that many periods are mentioned in this book. I congratulate the author of the book for documentary writing. On this pretext, I would also like to say that efforts should be made to preserve the historical heritages mentioned through the book. Because we have lost the first government building from this Raipur city which was a heritage.
