Raipur. Doctors and staff of NKD and More hospitals today held a peaceful protest against the recent fatal attack on a woman doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. The protest took place on the premises of both the hospitals, highlighting growing concerns over the safety of medical professionals
The protesters included senior doctors, nurses, and other health workers, who expressed their deep concern and outrage over the incident. They demanded immediate and strict action against the culprits and stressed the need for strong safety measures for those working in the health sector.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Vedprakash Dewangan, Director, NKD Healthcare Pvt Ltd said, “The attack on our colleague in Kolkata has targeted not just one individual but the entire medical community. We cannot ignore our professional safety. We demand justice and request the authorities to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.”
Protesters held placards with messages such as “Stop violence against doctors” and “Protect our healers”, and called on the public and government to protect health workers and appreciate their contributions.
At the end of the demonstration, a minute of silence was observed in honour of the victim. After this, everyone pledged to continue the struggle for the safety and respect of medical professionals.
After the protest, the hospital staff resumed their services, showing that they are committed to providing the best care to their patients, no matter how difficult the circumstances.
The protest is part of a larger movement being carried out by medical professionals across the country regarding their safety, demanding comprehensive safety measures.
