Raipur, 13 August 2024 : Commercial Tax and Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary reviewed the works of the Commercial Tax (GST) Department today. The review meeting was held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan Nava Raipur. He directed the departmental officers to make efforts to achieve the revenue target set by the government. He expressed satisfaction over the revenue received from April to July and directed to work with transparency while considering various aspects to collect tax in accordance with the economic activities in the state.
Minister Shri Chaudhary ji also directed that all the officers should work with a positive attitude to achieve the target set by the government. He emphasized on taking evidence based action for effective control over tax evasion. He also directed that no businessman, especially small businessmen, should be harassed unnecessarily. Pin point action should be taken to stop tax evasion through infrastructure available in the department, data analytics.
He instructed the officers to install biometrics and CCTV in all offices, come to office on time, maintain discipline, fix time to meet taxpayers, advocates and CAs at least three days a week and display it on the notice board. Shri Chaudhary also instructed the officers to meet businessmen, understand their problems and solve them promptly and reduce the time taken in new registration. Commercial Tax Secretary Shri Mukesh Bansal, Commissioner Shri Pushpendra Meena and all officers from Special Commissioner to Assistant Commissioner level of the department were present in the meeting.
