Under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Mahavriksharopan Abhiyan, today Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma planted a neem plant at Thakur Pyarelal Panchayat and Rural Development Institute, Nimora Raipur. The objective of this program was to increase environmental awareness and move towards a green future. In the tree plantation program,
various types of fruit and shade trees were planted by Mrs. Niharika Barik Singh, Secretary Mr. Rajesh Singh Rana, Director Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin Mr. Rajat Bansal and other officers and employees.

It is noteworthy that on the occasion of World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Mahavriksharopan Abhiyan. Under this campaign, the target is to plant 80 crore saplings in the country by September 2024 and 140 crore saplings by March 2025. Under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Mahavriksharopan Abhiyan, under the direction of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the target is to plant about 4 crore saplings in the state of Chhattisgarh.
