Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Uttar Pradesh is known for its mangoes as well as great freedom fighters. He said that the wonderful initiative taken by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath by integrating these two identities is inspiring. This is the best way to honour freedom fighters. By this, we will be able to establish an emotional connection with our great freedom fighters and include the memories of that great struggle in our most cherished moments.

Shri Sai has mentioned in the letter that historically also Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have always been emotionally connected. The residents of both the territories known as North Kosal and South Kosal have been the subjects of King Ram. Lord Shri Ram’s mother Kaushalya was born in Chhattisgarh and Lord Shri Ram was born in Ayodhya. He said that whenever Lord Shri Ram would have been coming from Ayodhya to his maternal home in Chhattisgarh, then baskets of juicy mangoes must have also come with him, that is why the mangoes of Chhattisgarh also have such a taste. During the exile, the mangoes here must have reminded our Ramlala of the mangoes there.

It is noteworthy that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, in a letter sent to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Sai along with Kakori mangoes, has mentioned in detail the abundant production of mangoes in Uttar Pradesh and its popular varieties. He has said that Kakori, which was a witness to the freedom struggle, is also a major centre of mango production. The Uttar Pradesh government has started marketing mangoes under the name of Kakori brand.
