Information given to doctors for developing Ayush Village
Ayush Directorate organized a workshop for District Ayurveda Officers and doctors of Ayush Village

A one-day workshop-cum-training was organized in the capital Raipur today by the Ayush Directorate of the State Government to develop Ayush Village in the state under the National Ayush Mission. In the workshop organized at Naveen Vishram Bhawan located in Civil Lines, District Ayurveda Officers and doctors of Ayush Village of all development blocks were given detailed information about the various activities to be implemented in Ayush Village.
Director of Ayush Department Ms. Iffat Ara inaugurated the workshop. Addressing the workshop, she said that Ayush Villages have been identified in 146 development blocks of Chhattisgarh to adopt the principles and practices of Ayush lifestyle and to realize the concept of Ayush Village based on health facilities, health care and treatments. Under the National Ayush Mission, 146 Ayush Villages are being developed in the state. Through Ayush Village, villagers will be educated according to Ayurveda, Yoga and Ayush methods to protect their health and keep them healthy throughout their life. Various activities will be conducted in Ayush Villages through public participation.
In the workshop, Chief Executive Officer of Chhattisgarh Tribal, Local Health Tradition and Medicinal Plant Board, Mr. J.A.C.S. Rao gave information to AYUSH officers and doctors about the plantation of easily available medicinal plants and the available market. He displayed 20 plants like Stevia, Shatavari, Kalmegh, Lemon-grass, Keukand, Ashwagandha, Sarpagandha full of medicinal properties and explained in detail about the suitable season and cultivation for their plantation.
Assistant Director-cum-State Program Manager of Ayush Department, Dr. Gajendra Baghel, gave detailed information about the concept of Ayush Village and the activities to be conducted there in the workshop. He said that the purpose of Ayush Village is to make people aware about the medicinal properties of trees and plants and promote their plantation and conservation. Under the National Ayush Mission, villages are to be identified and local people are to be motivated to lead a healthy lifestyle, proper diet and behavior as per the principles of Ayurveda, and to identify and use medicinal plants found nearby for the treatment of common diseases.
Associate Professor of Government Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Bilaspur, Dr. Vidyabhushan Pandey told the participating officers about the National Health Program ‘Ayurvidya’. He said that through this, teachers and students in schools have to be made aware about Ayurveda. Health check-up of children has to be done in schools. By organizing workshops at the local level, people have to be informed about the usefulness of AYUSH and their skills have to be upgraded in this field. Joint Director of AYUSH Department Dr. Sunil Kumar Das and Deputy Director Dr. A.C. Kiran along with senior departmental officers were also present in the workshop.
