Raipur. CBI has appealed to be cautious of scammers misusing its logo, names and posts of officers on social media.
CBI has urged the general public to be cautious about scams being carried out by misusing the name and designation of senior CBI officers. Especially in such scams, fake documents with signatures of CBI officers including Director CBI, fake warrants/summons are circulated on the internet/email/Whatsapp etc. to commit fraud.
The publicly available CBI logo is being misused by some criminals as their display picture (DP) to extort money by making calls mainly through WhatsApp. The CBI has advised people to be cautious and not fall prey to such scams. Any such attempt should be reported to the local police immediately.
