For which farmers celebrate Hareli festival. On the day of Hareli Amavasya i.e. Shravan Krishna Paksha Amavasya, farmers worship their fields and crops with incense and lamps. In the puja, leaves, twigs and Dashmool of the Bhilwa tree are specially planted in the standing crop and worshipped. Farmers believe that this protects them from many types of harmful insects and diseases in the crop. On this occasion, especially Chhattisgarhi dishes, such as jaggery cheela are made at home. On this day, there is a tradition of feeding bagranda and salt to bulls, cows and buffaloes to protect them from diseases.
