State Red Cross unit honoured the Governor

Governor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan released the souvenir of the year 2023-24 published by the Red Cross Committee Chhattisgarh unit at Raj Bhavan today.
On this occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Red Cross Committee Chhattisgarh, Shri M.K. Raut highlighted the remarkable achievements of Red Cross during the tenure of the State Patron Governor Shri Harichandan of the institution. He informed that the construction work of a fully equipped building is in progress to make the blood bank run by Red Cross state-of-the-art. For this construction, the Governor provided Rs 72 lakh from the discretionary grant fund. On the instructions of the Governor, government doctors have been appointed as trainers to provide first aid in emergency situations. They are giving training in first aid in every village in all the districts of the state.
On the initiative of Shri Harichandan, various industrial institutions have provided an amount of Rs 50 lakh to Red Cross from their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund. Also, four medical mobile units (ambulances) costing Rs. 4.83 crore are being made available for the tribal areas by Rural Electricity Corporation, an organisation of the Central Government. The officials of the Red Cross Committee thanked Shri Harichandan for this. The Governor was honoured by presenting a shawl, coconut and a memento on behalf of the organisation.
On this occasion, Chairman of Red Cross Committee Chhattisgarh, Shri Ashok Agarwal, Secretary Dr. Rupal Purohit, Dr. S.N. Pandey and other members of the committee were present.
