, Balodabazar. A part of the reservoir located in village Darchura of Simga development block of the district burst, due to which water entered the village. The villagers had to leave their household goods in their homes and run away to save their lives. Now the question is coming up that how did the reservoir suddenly burst and flood like situation arose. After all, who is responsible for creating this situation? Did the officials of the concerned department not go to see the reservoir? This situation arose due to the continuous increase in pressure in the reservoir, this is a matter of investigation. Will action be taken against those responsible now?
Sources say that crores of rupees are spent for the maintenance of the reservoir. The state government provides funds every year in the name of canal cleaning, so where was this amount spent? Did the responsible officials not pay attention to the repair of the reservoir? If this is so, then action should be taken against those responsible.
The villagers told their plight
The villagers said that if the officials had paid attention and had released the dam water through the canals in view of the continuous rain for the last five days, then perhaps this situation would not have arisen. The officials did not pay attention and we villagers had to bear the brunt of their mistake. The villagers said that the household items kept in the house along with the ration etc. got spoiled. The children’s school notebooks and books have all been spoiled due to water. The villagers say that this is the first time in forty years that such a situation has arisen. Action should be taken against the officials and the loss should be compensated.
