Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Smt. Savitri Thakur, who arrived in Raipur today on a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh, held a meeting of senior officials of the Women and Child Development Department at Vishram Grih in Naya Raipur. The main objective of this meeting was to review various schemes and ensure their effective implementation. During the meeting, Smt. Thakur received the progress report of various schemes from the officials and also discussed in detail about the current challenges and their solutions. She said that it is our priority to ensure effective implementation of the schemes run for the development of women and children.
Smt. Thakur said that the officers should regularly inspect the status of the schemes at the ground level and provide all possible help for the betterment of women and children. She said that the future of our country is in the hands of children and women, and we have to remain committed to their all-round development. Schemes like Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Integrated Child Development Programme, Child Protection Scheme, Anganwadi Services, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, and Sakhi One Stop Centre were reviewed in the meeting. Smt. Thakur directed the officers to run awareness campaigns to disseminate information about the schemes to the beneficiaries and make them aware of the benefits of the scheme.
On this occasion, Secretary and Commissioner Mrs. Shammi Abidi gave detailed information about the schemes being run for the welfare of women and children in the state and their updated progress. Director, Women and Child Development Tulika Prajapati and senior officials of the department were present in the meeting.
