Raipur. Chhattisgarh Junior Administrative Service Association has postponed the indefinite strike starting from July 22 over the demands of Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars of the state. This decision has been taken with the aim of giving time to the initiatives being taken by the government.
Let us tell you that the main demands of the union include adequate resources for the work of Revenue Court, Bhuiyan and e-District Portal, security in Revenue Court, promotion from Tehsildar to Deputy Collector post in 50:50 ratio, gazetted officer status to Naib Tehsildars, implementation of Judges Protection Act, proper arrangement for protocol work, vehicle arrangement for Tehsildars, and resources required for online work.
All these demands were discussed in detail in the meeting between the executive of the union and Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department Avinash Champawat. Secretary Champawat informed about the action being taken on these demands and gave assurance. State President of the Union Neelmani Dubey said that a positive response has been received on the demand to reserve 50% posts in the promotion from Tehsildar to Deputy Collector. The file for giving gazetted officer status to Naib Tehsildars is being sent to the General Administration Department.
The union has postponed the strike respecting the government’s decision in the interest of farmers after the tehsildars were given the power again in cases of error correction under section 115 of the Chhattisgarh Land Revenue Code 1959. The executive of the union will consider the further strategy in the upcoming meetings.
