As per the instructions of National Legal Services Authority, National Lok Adalat was successfully organised in all the courts of Balod district. In the National Lok Adalat organised today, the compromiseable cases were resolved through mutual consent and compromise agreement of the parties. It is notable that Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court Bilaspur, Justice Shri Parth Pratim Sahu attended the National Lok Adalat organised in Balod district today as the chief guest. He observed the working of the National Lok Adalat. He took stock of the arrangements by observing the Family Court First Class Judge, Judicial Magistrate, Principal District and Sessions Judge, District and Sessions Judge Fast Track and Special Court etc. located in the District and Sessions Court.

It is to be noted that Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha, while making continuous efforts to make this entire Lok Adalat successful, motivated to resolve as many cases as possible through video conferencing. Under this, National Lok Adalat was also organized today in the Principal District and Sessions Court Balod and Civil Court, Revenue Courts. A total of 2096 pending cases were kept in the Lok Adalat in Balod district, out of which a total of 1923 pending cases were resolved through National Lok Adalat. In this Lok Adalat, a total of 19231 cases of pending civil and criminal cases, pre-litigation cases of banks, electricity, water tax, BSNL and revenue courts were kept before the division bench, out of which 19124 cases were resolved through National Lok Adalat. In this National Lok Adalat, saplings were also distributed as an incentive to the parties who reached a mutual consent and reconciliation agreement.

During the visit to District and Sessions Court Balod, Justice Shri Parth Pratim Sahu inspected the district archives and the video conferencing room, library, waiting room etc. located in the district court and inquired about the arrangements there. Justice Sahu also observed the map prepared for the construction of the district court in Adamabad near the joint district office in the video conferencing room. Justice Shri Parth Pratim Sahu also attended the felicitation ceremony organized by the District Advocates Association in his honor in the advocates’ room of the district court.

In the National Lok Adalat, free health checkup of the parties who came to the district court premises was done. Stalls were also set up by the health department and bankers in this National Lok Adalat. An exhibition of home industries was also organised by the women’s group in the stalls. On this occasion, Principal District and Sessions Judge Shri Shyam Lal Navratna, District Advocates Association President Shri Ajay Sahu, along with other judges, advocates and officers and employees were present.
