Kondagaon. The village is mourning after a tenth grade student died after falling from the roof of a teacher’s under-construction house. The family has accused the teacher of forcing the student to work at his house by threatening to fail her. The family and villagers created a ruckus in the police station regarding this matter and demanded action against the guilty teacher by demanding a second post-mortem and medical examination. This case is from Sheetali Gram Panchayat of Kondagaon district.
Family members say that Lakheshwari Manikpuri, a student studying in class 10th, was brought to Kondagaon by school teacher Vinod Shardul on Sunday from her home to work on his under-construction house. The student’s mother Sonai Manikpuri and father Santdas are Kotwar of the village. They said that the teacher always took girls to work on his under-construction house. Even on Sunday, the teacher came home and started talking about taking the daughter away. When we refused to take her to work, he threatened to fail the daughter. Due to this fear, the daughter agreed to go to work.
The family said that on Sunday afternoon, some people suddenly came to their house and told that their daughter was unwell and brought her to the hospital. There it was found that the daughter had fallen from the roof of the teacher’s house. Her condition is critical. After some time, the student died. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police reached the spot and handed over the body to the family after the post-mortem. After the incident, the family is demanding a second post-mortem so that no such incident happens to the children.
There is delay in action, family should get justice: Markam
Sarpanch Tulsi Markam says that strict action should be taken after investigation on the entire matter. Another student was also with the dead girl, who is in shock due to the incident. The girl should also be medically examined, which will also clear the doubt whether any kind of incest has happened with the girl. Former MLA Mohan Markam, who reached the spot, said, the truth should come out and the family should get justice. This action is getting delayed. It is being said that the school girl was forcibly brought from the school.
