Suggestions were given to increase the number of tourists, increase the contribution of tourism to the state’s GDP, encourage the private sector in infrastructure development, strengthen and develop tourism facilities and include marketing and branding campaigns in the policy document.
In the meeting, other important topics were discussed including preserving the tribal culture and traditions of the state, developing the vast forest area with flora and fauna available in the state as eco-tourism, developing wellness tourism, agricultural tourism and amusement parks, sustainable, inclusive and responsible tourism, establishing Chhattisgarh as a major tourism brand, providing employment to operate tourism centers and empowering local communities and promoting Chhattisgarh as a safe state.
Officials from other departments including Industry Department, Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, Culture, Religious Trust and Religious Endowment, Forest, Tourism, Public Relations, State Urban Development Authority, Transport and Aviation were present in the meeting.
