This entire case is of Salhewara police station area. The victim left home telling her family that she was going to school but she did not return home. When the victim did not return home, her family got worried and started inquiring from acquaintances. Then the minor victim’s family came to know that the accused Mukesh Sonwani, age 23 years, resident of Gadhi, Balaghat (MP) has kidnapped the girl. A complaint was lodged in the area police station. The police took cognizance of the case and started searching for the accused and the minor. During this time, the police came to know that the accused is in Nagpur, Maharashtra. After which the police team reached there and took the accused along with the victim to Salhewara police station.
During the police interrogation, the minor said that she had left her home to go to school. The accused Mukesh Sonwani lured her by promising to marry her and called her to Madhya Pradesh alone by bus and took her to Nagpur in the bus and started raping her. During the interrogation, the accused confessed his crime. The police have arrested the accused and sent him to jail.
