Lormi. The dispute over the Deputy Ranger posted in Khudia area of Mungeli district is not showing any signs of stopping. Now in this matter the entire tribal society has opened a front raising questions on the action. In fact, last month, an elephant had died after getting hit by a live wire in room number 486 of the forest of Bhootkachar Circle. In this case, FIR has been registered against 9 accused under the leadership of Deputy Ranger Prabal Dubey. Three of these accused have also been lodged in jail.

It is being told that on May 4, Visambhar Singh of village Sargarhi was arrested by the forest department team, who is facing serious charges of assault on the deputy ranger in custody. A serious injury mark is visible on the back part of the body of the youth arrested for assault. Its video is also going viral on social media.

One and a half months ago, people of the tribal community had filed an FIR under Atrocity against the Deputy Ranger on the complaint of the department’s watchman Bhaduram Kolam. Continuous complaints were made against him demanding his arrest including suspension, but no action was taken in the said complaint. Due to this, two days ago the villagers, angry with the Deputy Ranger, beat the Deputy Ranger severely in the forest. On receiving information about this incident, Deputy Ranger Dubey was brought to the 50 bed hospital with the help of police, where after first aid, he was admitted to jail a day later. Also, on the complaint of Deputy Ranger Prabal Dubey, an FIR has been registered against three villagers along with other accused on charges of assault and obstruction in government work.

Warning of agitation if action is not taken within 7 days

After the FIR was registered against the people of the tribal community on the complaint of the Deputy Ranger, the entire tribal community is also in action mood. He reached Lormi police station and submitted a memorandum to the SDOP, demanding that the malicious report written by Prabal Dubey be canceled within 7 days. Under the leadership of Provincial President of Sarv Adivasi Samaj Youth Division, Subhash Singh Parte, a memorandum was submitted to SDOP Madhuri Dhirahi regarding the incident and a warning was given of fierce agitation if action is not taken within 7 days.

The incident would not have happened had earlier action been taken against the Defty Ranger.

Sarva Adivasi Samaj alleges that on the complaint of Bhaduram Kolam, a crime under Atrocity was registered in Ajak police station Mungeli a month ago, but no action was taken against him. Regarding this, on the information about the visit of DFO Sanjay Yadav in Khudia forest area, the people of the tribal community had gone to meet him to demand the suspension of the absconding accused Deputy Ranger, where Prabal Dubey abused the tribal community obscenely. This spoiled the atmosphere. There was no assault of any kind with the Deputy Ranger on the spot. He is trying to trap the tribal society by giving false reports. If the report made by them is not reduced to zero within 7 days, the entire tribal community will launch an aggressive protest.

Regarding this matter, SDOP Madhuri Dhirahi said that Deputy Ranger Prabal Dubey had recently abused and beaten Visambhar God. On this complaint, a crime under atrocity has been registered against him, who has been sent to jail on judicial remand. During this time, on May 10, people from the tribal community also beat up the Deputy Ranger in the forest area. On this complaint, further action is being taken by registering a crime under sections 186, 553 of obstructing government work and assault against three named people and other associates.
