Durg. A youth died due to drowning near Mahmra Anicut of Shivnath River in Durg district of Chhattisgarh. When the person present near Anicut saw him drowning, he immediately called the police and informed them. As soon as the information was received, the police and SDRF team reached the spot, but by then the person had drowned in the current of water. After several hours of searching the body could be taken out of the river.
SDRF in-charge Nagendra Kumar Singh said that he had received information from 112 that a youth had drowned in Mahmra Anicut. He immediately sent a team there. When the team reached there, there was a crowd of people. The eyewitness said that he saw the young man drowning. The SDRF team entered the river with a boat and divers. The body was taken out after several hours of searching and deep diving.
According to the information, the deceased has been identified as Bhupendra Yadav, father Makhan Yadav (55 years), resident of Rajiv Nagar Durg. After identifying the deceased, the police called the family members and started questioning them.
During police interrogation, family members said that Bhupendra cannot commit suicide. Now Durg Police has started investigating whether this case is suicide, accident or murder.
