Soldiers from Kondagaon and Narayanpur were also deployed in polling stations in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi. These soldiers had already conducted the first and second phase of voting in the Naxal area, and were also involved in the Naxal operation taking place there. Almost all the soldiers were from DRG or Bastar Fighter, in which women security personnel were also included in large numbers.
The soldiers got a surprise when district officials including SP GPM Bhavana Gupta and Additional SP Om Chandel arrived to receive them after voting duty. After welcoming the soldiers, a buffet was organized for them. During this, SP Bhavna Gupta was seen serving vegetables, while Additional SP Om Chandel fed Gulab Jamun to the soldiers.
The faces of the soldiers lit up due to the cordial behavior of the officers and the food arrangements. The SP inquired about his condition and while having dinner together, heard about his training and experiences of working in the Naxal area. Elections have now been completed in Chhattisgarh, and the soldiers engaged in election duty will return to their parent units for Naxal operations.
