Some people along with Women Commission chairperson and former mayor Kiranmayi Nayak and former Durg mayor RN Verma reached her house and started threatening the woman to divorce her. After that a complaint was given in Newai police station, but no action was taken on it. Apart from this, her father-in-law had also misbehaved with her during counseling in the women’s police stationThe victim’s lawyer Gaurav Sharma said that the FIR has been filed late, even after a year. He has full faith in the judiciary. Lawyer Gaurav Sharma told that Pratima Chandrakar, elder sister of the victim’s mother-in-law Meena Baghmar, has been a former MLA. She has been continuously harassing the victim by bullying her due to her sister’s political approach as well as being a close relative of former CM Bhupesh Baghel, but now after the change in governance, a victim will definitely get justice..
