Jail Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu gave instructions for alternative arrangement.
Decision was taken keeping in mind the increasing transition of Corona.
Raipur 1 August 2020. State Home and Jail Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, while showing sensitivity, has instructed the inmates of the jail to give permission to the jail inmates for video calling and talking on the phone. This decision has been taken in view of the spread of global epidemic Kovid-19. No one will be allowed to meet in jails. The festival of Rakshabandhan is a symbol of brotherly love. Every year on this day, the inmates of the jail used to go to jail to tie their sisters rakhi but in view of the corona infection, this time the meeting has been stopped.
Realizing the love of sisters and brothers, Jail Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu has directed the Additional Director General of Police for its alternative arrangement. Shri Sahu has said that arrangements should be made to get the prisoners to talk to their sisters through video calling and phones in jails so that the sisters can talk to their brothers on the day of Rakshabandhan. Mr. Sahu has also said that if the ashes sent by postal mail are received with the jail management, then it should be delivered inside the jail. Shri Sahu said that siblings respect the sentiments of the people associated with this festival, but the decision not to allow them to meet in jails has also been taken keeping in mind the safety of the public.
