Chaiti Chhath 2024: Chhath fast, the great festival of folk faith in Hindu religion, is special. Chhath festival is celebrated twice in Bihar. This includes Chaiti Chhath occurring in the month of Kartik. The glory of the Sun remains upon those who celebrate Chhath festival and every wish is fulfilled. Chaiti Chhath festival has started from 12th April.
For the four-day long Chaiti Chhath Puja, Chhathvartis are busy worshiping with rituals. Chaiti Chhath Puja, which started with Nahay Khay from last Friday, will be offered to the setting sun on Sunday by devotees, while on Monday morning the four-day Chaiti Chhath Puja will end after offering arghya to the rising sun. On Saturday, during Mrigashira Nakshatra and Shobhan Yoga, the fasting person remained fasting for the whole day, performed Kharna puja in the evening and took kheer made of jaggery as prasad and took a pledge of 36 hours of waterless fast. This keeps the body healthy and increases intellectual capacity. Lord Surya is considered a direct deity. With the blessings of Sun, happiness, peace and prosperity increases in homes.
