Raipur. Today was the last day of withdrawal of nominations for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections-2024. For the second phase, 5 candidates have withdrawn their nominations and 11 nominations of 6 candidates have been rejected in scrutiny. After the withdrawal of nominations, a total of 41 candidates are in the electoral fray. This includes 38 male and 3 female candidates. This information has been given by Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Shailabh Sahu.
Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Shailabh Sahu said that during the code of conduct, Rs. 40,77,00,000 have been seized so far across the state. Out of this, Rs 10 crore 50 lakh in cash, liquor worth Rs 77 lakh, drugs worth Rs 4 crore 77 lakh, gold and silver jewelery worth Rs 2 crore 9 lakh and other products worth Rs 22 crore have been seized.
For the second phase, 15 candidates in Rajnandgaon, 17 in Mahasamund and 9 in Kanker have been declared eligible for election. It is noteworthy that elections for 11 Lok Sabha seats of Chhattisgarh will be held in three phases on 19 April, 26 April and 7 May and the counting of votes will take place on 4 June.
