Controversy, allegations and clarification continue on the statement of Chhattisgarh Leader of Opposition Dr. Charan Das Mahant. Former Chief Minister and Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha candidate Bhupesh Baghel has defended Mahant. He said that Charan Das Mahant’s intention was to break pride. BJP leaders do not understand Chhattisgarhi language and culture.

On the other hand, BJP continues to be aggressive on Mahant’s statement. Former leader of opposition and senior BJP leader Narayan Chandel said that Mahant has gone crazy. Bhupesh Baghel posted on social media and wrote, ‘ Whatever Leader of Opposition Charandas Mahant ji said is said in the idiom of Chhattisgarhi language. Every person who knows and understands Chhattisgarhi language, which is rich in proverbs and is associated with Chhattisgarhi folk life, knows this.

‘He meant to break the pride. BJP leaders cannot understand this phrase. They do not understand Chhattisgarhi language and culture. Despite this fact, Mahant ji has politely said that he regrets if it has been misinterpreted.

‘We are people of Mahatma Gandhi’s party. We neither believe in violence nor is violence a part of our thinking. We are people of non-violent ideology. As far as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is concerned, we want to defeat him democratically. Want to break their pride. We have no disrespect towards him. May he be healthy and live long.

Mahant had given clarification when the controversy escalated

Leader of Opposition Dr. Charan Das had given clarification a day before when the controversy escalated after his statement. Mahant had said that his statement was made into a molehill. Prime Minister is a respected post. I have not said anything like this, I don’t know why people are saying this. I am a Kabir fan, I cannot say such a wrong thing. If my words hurt you, I apologize.

BJP is protesting

Due to Mahant’s statement the political temperature in the state is high since last 3 days. BJP is continuously making statements and demonstrations regarding this. Protests against Dr. Mahant are continuing from Raipur across the state. In Raipur, a demonstration was held outside the government bungalow of Mahant under the leadership of Deputy CM Vijay Sharma.

After this, on Thursday, BJP workers tried to enter Mahant’s residence by breaking the barricade in Janjgir. In Bhilai also, workers were trying to enter the Congress office. He said that he had come to get the stick.
