Rajnandgaon. On Wednesday, a day before the last date of filing nomination papers from Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seat, 210 people had made this seat a topic of discussion in the state by taking nomination forms. It was believed that on April 4, the last day of nomination filing, about 200 people would take nomination forms and file nomination papers. In this way, a total of more than 385 candidates will be on this Lok Sabha seat, but on the last day of nomination filing, a large number of people did not come to collect nomination papers. At the same time, hundreds of people who had taken nomination papers on Wednesday also did not come to file their nominations.

Let us tell you that the effect of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s talk of elections through ballot paper when 385 nominations were received was visible in Rajnandgaon. Congress officials were also seen along with the people who came to collect the nomination forms. In such a situation, after these people have not filed their nominations, Congress has distanced itself from this entire matter. Rajnandgaon District Congress Committee spokesperson Rupesh Dubey has said that this preparation was not of the Congress, those who had come to collect the forms must have had the intention of submitting the nomination, if they have not submitted the nomination papers then it must be their thinking. Congress party has no connection with this.

The administration had made extensive arrangements

Keeping in view the possibility of hundreds of candidates filing nomination papers from Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seat on a large scale, the administration had made elaborate arrangements here and had made preparations for the seating of about 300 people, but no name could be filed on a large scale. The director did not come to file the letter, even those people who had taken the nomination form a day before did not come. In this matter, Rajnandgaon Deputy District Election Officer Khemlal Verma said that today we had made seating arrangements for more than 300 people, but it could not happen. He said that till the last date of nomination filing, 244 people have taken the form and 23 candidates have filed their nomination papers.

Hundreds of people had taken the form after the statement of former CM Baghel

It is noteworthy that after the statement of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, preparations for filing nomination papers from Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seat by 385 people were visible here. Due to this, around 210 people had taken the nomination form and the same number of people had taken the nomination form till the last date of filing the nomination. Were going to take the form till 2017, but this intention could not be fulfilled. According to the rules, there are 16 buttons in a ballot unit, out of which 15 are for candidates and one is for NOTA. 24 ballot units can be installed in one control unit, in which a total of 384 candidates including NOTA can participate. This was the reason that after crossing the figure of 385 candidates, the control unit would not be useful, in such a situation the voting would have been conducted through ballot paper.
