Durg. The Food Department has raided the milk and cheese processing unit in village Demar of Patan block of the district. It is suspected that fake milk and cheese was being made in the factory. The Food Department team has seized milk, cheese, milk powder, urea, chemicals and oil on a large scale. Food officials say that further action will be taken after the test report of the sample comes.

Actually, the Food Department got information about making fake milk and fake cheese in village Demar of Patan block. Based on the information, the factory was raided with the help of the Fertilizer Department, Naib Tehsildar and local police. When the food department team reached the warehouse of the processing unit. So here hundreds of packets of milk powder of different brands were found in sacks. Along with this, food oil, urea and chemicals were found in hundreds of tin cans.

Naved Khan, the operator of the processing unit, told that he sells milk powder. The processing unit is cleaned with the chemicals and detergents found. The Food Department team has sealed the entire store room. Factory operator Naved Khan said that he uses the urea found in the store room in his garden and fields. Half a sack of urea was found from the spot. Food department officials say that after examining the samples, it will be known whether chemicals and urea are found in milk and cheese or not. Several gallons of acetic acid were also found in the factory. There is a warning written on the gallon that it has to be used only while wearing gloves, otherwise it can burn the skin. However, the factory operator says that he uses it for cleaning the machine. Factory operator Naved Khan is a resident of Raipur. He says that the edible oil found in his warehouse is used in making namkeen. He said that he does not make any brand of namkeen but sells it in loose form. He told that he has a salt manufacturing unit in Raipur Shankar Nagar and an oil store in Patan.

Naib Tehsildar Bhupendra Singh said that the Food Department team has taken the sample. If the sample fails, further action will be taken against the unit operator as per rules.
