Information given about model code of conduct, election expenditure and guidelines of Election Commission of India for Lok Sabha general elections.

Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale today held a meeting of representatives of recognized political parties of the state. He gave detailed information to the representatives of political parties in the meeting regarding model code of conduct and election expenditure monitoring.
In the meeting held in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, detailed information was provided regarding the process of filing nomination papers by the candidates during the Lok Sabha general elections.
It was told in the meeting that with the announcement of the election programme, the Model Code of Conduct has become effective in the entire state and it will remain effective till the end of the election process. Even after the final publication of the electoral rolls in the state, the process of adding the names of voters in the continuous updation is still under process. Arrangements for assured minimum facilities like ramp, drinking water, electric light, toilets etc. have been made in all the polling stations of the state. Voter assistance center will be constructed in every polling station.
It was told in the meeting that voter friends will be present in all the polling centers to provide necessary support to the elderly and disabled voters. As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, elderly people above 85 years of age, disabled people with 40 percent or more disability and voters suspected or infected with Covid-19 should also submit their application through the prescribed format to the concerned Returning Officer within 5 days of the date of notification of the election. Can submit application, so that they will be able to vote at home through postal ballot.
In the meeting, information about the limit of expenditure by political parties and candidates during elections and the instructions of the Commission regarding maintenance of expenditure accounts was given to the representatives of political parties. In the meeting, representatives of political parties were also informed about the process of permission for vehicles and rallies during the election period and the guidelines of the Election Commission of India in this regard.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Nilesh Kumar Mahadev Kshirsagar, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Mr. P.S. Representatives of recognized political parties including Dhruv and senior officials of the Chief Electoral Officer’s office were present.
